Daily use

The external-link button takes you from a company straight to one of its contacts. This page shows how to use it day to day.

Open a contact directly

1. Open the Contacts app.
2. Open a company.
3. Switch to the Contacts tab.
4. On the card you want, click the external-link icon in the top right corner.

Odoo then opens that contact's full form in the current window. Hovering over the icon shows the hint Open Partner Form.

Note

Doing so takes you away from the company's form. Save any open changes before you click the button.

Return to the company

In the breadcrumb above the form, click the company's name. You land back on the tab you came from.

Tip

Clicking the contact's name on the card still opens the familiar edit dialog with the address details. Use the button when you want to see the contact with all its tabs — such as Sales, Invoices, or Notes.
