Continuing in IAA-Plus

The module produces the export declaration as a file. The actual submission to the customs administration takes place in IAA-Plus, the internet export declaration in the German customs portal. This page relates the two steps to each other.

Note

IAA-Plus is an application of the German customs administration. Its operation is described in the IAA-Plus user manual published by the customs administration. The notes below only set out the framework and do not replace that manual.

Requirements on the customs side

  • an account in the customs portal (a business account, created via ELSTER or an eIDAS certificate),
  • an EORI number registered to the same company as the account,
  • software for displaying PDF files, for the export accompanying document and the exit note.

The path of the file

  1. In Odoo: generate the XML file with Generate IAA-Plus Export File and download it from the delivery's attachments. See Checking and exporting.
  2. In IAA-Plus: log in and call up the function for loading a declaration. There you can enter a description for the declaration to be uploaded and select the file.
  3. Plausibility check: IAA-Plus checks the loaded declaration and creates a new case from it. You are then taken straight into the declaration and can continue working on it.
  4. Complete and submit: review the entries, add whatever IAA-Plus additionally requires, and submit the declaration.

What happens next

After acceptance by the export customs office, IAA-Plus provides you with:

  • the MRN, the unique registration number of the export operation,
  • the export accompanying document (ABD) that travels with the consignment,
  • once the goods have left the customs territory of the Union, the exit note you need for VAT purposes.

Tip

Keep the Bezugsnummer (LRN) from Odoo to hand. It is the reference by which you find your case in IAA-Plus and link it back to the delivery in Odoo.

Linking back to Odoo

Odoo receives no feedback from IAA-Plus. To keep the case traceable in Odoo, we recommend:

  • noting the MRN in the delivery's chatter once the declaration has been accepted,
  • attaching the export accompanying document and the exit note to the delivery.

That way the XML file, the MRN and the evidence are all kept in one place.
