Creating default values

Many entries in an export declaration repeat themselves: the same export customs office, the same goods location, the same type of export declaration. Default values let you record these once and load them into every new declaration.

The three kinds of default values

Kind Applies to Typical use
Generelle Standardwerte (general) all exports Your declarant, your export customs office, your goods location, your usual type of export declaration
Standardwert für diese Lieferadresse (per delivery address) one particular delivery address Customers with fixed peculiarities, such as a differing consignee or fixed documents
Standardwert für das aktuelle Empfängerland (per country of destination) one country of destination Countries with their own requirements, such as a specific exit customs office

There is exactly one set of default values per kind: one general, one per delivery address, one per country. Saving again overwrites the existing set.

Default values are created on the delivery

Default values are not entered in a form of their own; they are saved from a declaration you have already filled in. The procedure is described under Using default values.

Recommended approach for the initial setup:

  1. Process one typical export completely and fill in the Zoll tab carefully.
  2. Save this declaration as Generelle Standardwerte.
  3. Building on that, create country- or address-specific default values as required.

What is stored

The individual fields of the declaration are stored, among them:

  • the type of export declaration,
  • country of destination and country of export, export, exit and presentation customs office, security, transport charges, reference number and other reference numbers,
  • all entries of the Lagerort sub-tab,
  • the parties: declarant, exporter, subcontractor, consignor, together with their flags,
  • delivery terms, invoice data and means of transport.

Important

Tables are not stored. Everything recorded as a list in the declaration — the route, packages, containers, supporting documents, previous documents, transport documents, other references, additional information, supply chain actors and the means of transport at departure — is not part of the default values.

Worse: when default values are loaded, the corresponding lists in the target declaration are cleared, provided the source declaration had entries there. Always load default values first and enter list entries afterwards.

Manage stored default values

You will find an overview of all stored sets here:

  1. Open the Inventory app.
  2. Select Configuration → Zoll - Hilfsdaten → Zoll Standardwerte.

The list shows the Typ for each entry and — depending on the type — the Adresse or the Land. Grouping by Typ or Land keeps things clear even with many entries.

Use this overview to:

  • check which countries and addresses already have default values,
  • delete outdated sets so they cannot be loaded by mistake.

Important

The content of the Standardwerte field in the form is a technical representation of the stored data. Do not edit it by hand — faulty changes cause an error when loading. To change a set, load it into a declaration, correct it there and save it again.

Note

The Zoll Standardwerte menu entry is only available at the Administrator permission level. Saving and loading on the delivery is possible from the Manager level upwards.
