Preparatory tasks¶
The quality of your export declaration is decided in the master data. The more completely products, contacts and goods locations are maintained, the less you have to enter on the individual delivery — and the less often validation fails.
This section describes what you should set up before the first export. Most entries are made once; after that only new products and new business partners are added.
Overview¶
| What | Where | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Customs data on products | Sales or Inventory app, product, Zoll tab | Commodity code, country of production, gross and net mass of the goods items |
| Customs data on contacts | Contacts app, company, Zoll tab | Identification number, branch number and contact person of the parties |
| Goods locations | Contacts app | Address of the place where the goods are presented |
| Default values | Zoll tab of a delivery | Enter recurring data once, load it again and again |
Tip
Start with the products. Without a commodity code and a country of production, goods items are still created — but without the data customs requires, and the items are not grouped meaningfully.
Who does what¶
- Product and customs data: people with the Administrator permission level, or whoever usually maintains products.
- Contacts: the team that maintains your business partners anyway.
- Default values: the people who handle exports (Manager permission level).
For more on the permission levels see Access rights.
