Goods locations¶
The Warenort (goods location) is the place where the goods are at the time of the declaration and where they are available to customs for control. If the goods location is given as an address, the declaration falls back on a contact. So that only the intended contacts are offered, the module uses the tag Zoll / Lagerort.
Create a goods location as a contact¶
- Open the Contacts app.
- Click New.
- Choose the type Company and give it a meaningful name, for example
Lagerort Werk Nord. - Enter Street, ZIP, City and Country.
- Add the tag Zoll / Lagerort in the Tags field.
- Click Save.
The Zoll / Lagerort tag is created automatically when the module is installed.
Note
Only contacts carrying this tag appear in the Lagerort Adresse field of the declaration. If you create the contact directly from that field, it receives the tag automatically.
What the declaration does with it¶
When you select a Lagerort Adresse in the Lagerort sub-tab under Entering header data, the module fills Strasse / Nr, PLZ, Ort and Zusatz from the contact.
Important
The address fields in the Lagerort sub-tab work in both directions: if you change the street, postcode, city or address supplement there, the contact is changed as well — and with it every other declaration referring to that contact. Only correct a goods location in the declaration if the change is meant to be permanent. Otherwise create a separate contact for the differing location.
Other types of location identification¶
Not every goods location is given as an address. The declaration knows four ways, which you select in the Lagerort sub-tab via the Art des Bestimmungsortes field:
| Type | What you enter | Preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Y — authorisation | Authorisation number and additional identifier of the loading place stored in the authorisation | Have the authorisation number ready |
| Z — address | Address of the goods location | Create a contact tagged Zoll / Lagerort |
| W — GNSS | Latitude and longitude | Determine the coordinates |
| U — UN/LOCODE | Standardised location code for trade and transport | Nothing; the list comes from the reference data |
With all four types you can additionally name an Ansprechpartner am Warenort (contact person at the goods location). Create these people as contacts in advance too, so that name, phone and email are pulled in automatically.
Tip
If you always ship from the same warehouse, store the goods location once in the default values. It is then one click away in every new declaration.
